Wilmot Family Resource Centre Announces Name Change!

Wilmot Family Resource Centre is excited to announce the agency will become Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre on April 28, 2025. This new name better represents the larger area and rural communities the Centre has served for over 40 years. “We wanted our name to show that our services are for everyone, not just families,” says Trisha Robinson, Executive Director. “Anyone, whether they are individuals, seniors, Indigenous people, or people without homes, can use our services or attend our programs.”

Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre works with Woolwich Community Services to provide programs, food support, and other services to people in Wellesley Township. The main service provider for the southern half of the Township, divided by Lobsinger Line, is WWRC. The two agencies will keep working together to help meet their clients’ needs.

Additionally, Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre has launched a new website that is not only easy to use, but also accessible to everyone.” The website was built by a local company, Accessibrand. WWRC received funding from Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund to upgrade its website, technology, and security. This will help to meet increasing demand.

Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre is hosting an open house on November 25th, from 3-6 PM in New Hamburg. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate! You can tour the Centre, learn about their services, and see how they help rural communities.
