Wilmot Family Resource Centre is pleased to announce that effective May 21, 2025, the agency will be known as the Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre. This name change more accurately reflects the broader catchment area and rural communities that the Centre has served for well over 40 years. “We wanted our name to more accurately reflect our mandate – which is not limited to families but includes everyone,” says Trisha Robinson, Executive Director. “Individuals, seniors, indigenous people, unhoused people, everyone can access our services or attend our programs”.
The Wilmot and Wellesley Resource Centre works together with Woolwich Community Services to provide a wide range of programs, food support, and other services to residents of Wellesley Township – with WWRC as the main service provider for the Southern half (divided at Lobsinger Line). The agencies will refer to each other to best help serve clients’ individual needs.
To coincide with this exciting announcement, the Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre is launching a brand-new website. Designed with accessibility in mind by local business Accessibrand, the website will provide a user-friendly experience for all visitors. Building a secure and accessible website was partially funded by the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund – a fund aimed at helping Community Services agencies modernize and adapt their operations post-Pandemic. The funding was also used to implement customer relationship management software and to strengthen IT infrastructure and security to help meet growing needs.
